Rules of the BCDI

Monday : 8.30 – 17h
Tuesday : 8.30 – 17h
Wednesday : 8.30 – 13h

Friday : 8.30 – 15 h ( closed from 1pm to 1.30pm)
Rules for Borrowing:
Two books per student from nursery to CE2
Three books per student from CM1 to 12th grade.
Regarding comics, periodicals and CD-ROM, only one copy at a time can be borrowed.
Novels, tales, poetry and drama, for a period of 15 days and other books (illustrated books, periodicals, documentaries, comics) for a week.
Any damage or loss of books will be attract a fine (to be settled before the end of the school year) on the following terms:
Book that are a year or two old:
- Returned in an extremely damaged condition : 12 €
- Returned in poor condition: 6 €
Book that are three years or more:
- Returned in an extremely damaged condition: 6 €
- Returned in poor condition: 3 €
Book lost or not returned whatever its age: 12 €
Exceptions:
The BCDI is used by students from two and a half years to 17 years old, it is thus necessary, in this situation, to respect the space of one and the others …
The space “BCD" is thus reserved for the youngest students; the students of secondary level are not authorized to be there, writing tables are kept for their use.
Use of computers:
Computers must be used only for research purpose in respect to school work. An authorization must be taken to use messaging or for any other use of the computer, even for extracurricular workshop (3D in particular.)
The computer can neither be switched on nor switched off without permission.
Each computer can be used by two students at a time.
Printing of documents:
The printers will be used under the supervision of the authorized person present, only documents in connection with the school work can be printed. Documents must not be directly printed from an internet page but after a preliminary selection.
Internet:
For the use of internet, refer to the circular issued by the school establishment council.
Free periods during school hours:
This time is to be considered as study time. The students of the secondary level are authorized to do their homework or to revise their lessons, to do research work or read silently during this period.
Break time:
The BCDI can be used by students during break timings to borrow or return books, to update their school work or to read silently.
Lunch Break:
The library has up to 25 students between 1 pm and 3 pm. This is a moment of relaxation for all. So the use of computers is limited to 15mn per student. It is permitted during this period to check his mail. For any other use permission must be taken.
Drinks, food, walkman, chewing gum are strictly forbidden in the BCDI.
Before leaving the library:
It is advisable to put back the books and magazines in their place (in case of doubt consult the librarian) arrange the chairs, throw waste papers in the dustbin and tidy the borrowed books, do not switch off the computers.
